Dear Friends,
The last hours of the life of Jesus on this earth were the most difficult ones, HE experienced one disappointment after the other and His burden was too much to carry. In the garden of Gethsemane, Jesus asked His Disciples to remain there and to keep awake as HE was praying and preparing himself for the cross, but the disciples were sleeping. HE was betrayed by Judas for some pieces of silver coins, then arrested, beaten, and condemned to death. HE was denied three times by Peter, who called him the Rock. In front of Pilate, the same people, who were welcoming Him in Jerusalem as a king and savior a week before, were shouting “crucify Him” HE was then sent to be crucified carrying HIS own cross. What a tragedy, HE was left alone…
Today, in such depressing times, where many people are left abandoned, feeling lonely, are suffering and are in tears after losing their beloved ones. Our comfort is that GOD will never abandon us, HE is walking side by side with us, and in times of trouble and suffering, HE is carrying us on HIS arms. This is our comfort.
We should always remember that we have a call and a work to do. The message of the resurrection is clear, and it reminds us that we are the people of hope, we must stop crying, the tomb is empty; HE IS NOT THERE, HE IS RISEN.
With this power of the resurrection, we can stand up again, and continue our mission being the “Salt of the earth and the Light of the world”. The valley of tears we are walking through will become the spring of hope.
It is the time to celebrate the light that is overcoming the darkness of our world, and to celebrate the victory of Life over Death. Let us pray that the light of the resurrection continues to shine in our hearts always.
And the journey continues with faith, love, and hope.
Blessings and Salaam,
Daoud Nassar & Family
